Three ejected after major fight in Oakland

Published

on

The Oakland Raiders Michael Crabtree and Gabe Jackson, along with the Denver Broncos Aqib Talib were ejected by referee Walt Anderson’s crew after a major fight (video).

It started when Talib and Crabtree took their downfield blocking well out of bounds. As side judge Laird Hayes threw his flag and waded into the scrum, Jackson knocked over Hayes.

As the officials were sorting things out along the sideline, Talib and Crabtree decided they needed to do some more fighting and took swings at each other in front of the entire stadium.

Hayes appeared hurt after Jackson knocked him over and was down for a few moments. But, the veteran official is still in the game.

Even more crazy, Talib had to leave the field through the Oakland bench after the ejection. Marshawn Lynch, escorted Talib through the Raiders’ bench area, and stadium security quickly took over from there (video).

Jackson’s foul for shoving an official is assessed separately, since it is a foul against an official.

This is the second major incident with ejections this week. There have been 15 ejections so far this NFL season. Expect major fines and, I predict, suspensions for Talib and Crabtree.
