An observation by one of the members on our discussion board, Behind the Football Stripes. As long as the league office is following the previously established protocol, it seems that Freeman has the Super Bowl assignment at back judge.

It is also basically confirmed that Steve Freeman will be the Super Bowl BJ. Not just because he did not work with his crew in the first round but because the other three BJ’s this round are most likely not eligible. Dino worked the Super Bowl last year and Prukop and Miles are only working their second playoff games and do not fit the necessary criteria t work the Super Bowl. However, you never know with the way things happened last year.

Freeman is working the 49ers-Panthers playoff game.
