The 2023 NFL season is upon us. Land Clark will be working the first game of the first full preseason week as the Patriots take on the visiting Texans in Foxborough, Mass. on Thursday evening.

This week marks the first NFL referee assignment for Alan Eck, pictured above, who was promoted in the offseason to replace the retired Jerome Boger. Eck worked as a referee in the Big 12 Conference before being hired by the NFL in 2016. His last game at white hat was the Music City Bowl on Dec. 31, 2015.

Alex Moore will get a tryout at the referee position in Cincinnati. Moore is in his second season and was a referee in the SEC (seek to 7:50 in video).

There may be another referee tryout in New Orleans, but that has not been confirmed.

All times are Eastern. Live games on NFL Network will be blacked out and telecast on local stations in both teams’ markets. (In some blackouts, a game scheduled to air on tape delay game will be aired live on NFL Network as a substitute game.) All games are available live on NFL+.

The 2023 officiating crews are listed here, but note that there may be substitutions from the regular crew personnel each week.
