citrus bowlWalt Coleman will be the referee for the Thursday night Falcons-Dolphins game played at Camping World Stadium — you know it as the Orlando Citrus Bowl before the naming rights were sold back in April. 1. That’s strange, but I double checked, and Vinovich does have the cheeseheads this week.

Fixed the assignment for Browns/Bucs to Brad Allen.

  2. I love this site. The referees are the personality of the game. From Ed and his legalese to Tony and his Mob look, each character has his charm.

  3. Opening Thursday Night Steratore in Denver
Week 1 wrolstad is in Washington

    Week 2 morelli in Pit.
    Week 2 Steratore in NYG

  4. Refs, you are horrible! Bills vs Redskins game — refs were HORRIBLE! Really, flag happy. But when a flag should be thrown, you totally disregard. Flag thrown for roughing the passer – not sure why, because quarterback was tackled. I guess a sack is by wind blown down. Six Redskins tackle Williams, literally pick him up and THROW him on the ground, loosens the helmet and NO FLAG……really!!!!! Where the heck were you refs looking. TO many chiefs and not enough indians I guess. Pathetic, all these years of watching football and the “zebras” are worse and worse every year. Disgusting, really really disgusting. Preseason should be about eliminating black and white strip shirts TOO!!!!!

  5. What a sorry job of officiating by Ed Hocculi at Redskins game. Bs flags on two sacks. Retire this idiot

  6. Terry McCauley absolutely unloaded on Jonah Monroe tonight over marking a punt OOB on the sideline. Jonah had to take a couple steps back to satisfy McCauley’s position, and afterward Terry ran straight over and got in his face about it. Terry body language was not good in this interaction, he looked legitimately angry and out of control. Not very professional IMO.

  7. Bonnie… feel free to watch and enjoy the games, but save the referee criticism. Post on boards where you may have some actual subject knowledge.

These forums are for people that know the game, not casual fans. It is bad enough to hear a layperson who has never officiated a game drone on about what calls he or she thinks were missed. But, it is obvious when you run into a layperson who has not played the game and has no understanding of the game.

As an example, please see the commentary from Alex. I did not see the game where Terry was the referee, and therefore can’t say I agree or disagree with his opinion…but that is the type of commentary that is valuable. Not griping about calls by laypersons with a rooting interest for the home team.

  8. Hey Alex,
I’m guessing you do not know TM personally. This is not out of character for him. He has issues handling situations that do not go exactly as he has scripted. It’s almost like he is a Jekell n Hyde. The surprise is he went after his ‘boy’. I’m guess the honeymoon is wearing off after the disaster in NY last year. He threw the BJ under the bus after that game and now watch out Jonah he is coming after YOU! Should be interesting season.
