  1. Any comment on Jeff Fisher challenging a forward progress that he knew (or should have known) wasn’t challengaebale just to yell at refs?

  2. Did anyone see the onside kick fiasco at the end of the Oakland and Seattle game? Classic Eddie Hochuli. Raiders line up to kick the on side kick, but Eddie blows the play dead in mid-kick. Why? It appears one of his officiating crew is not in position. That’s right. Eddie stops the play because one of his guys can’t get his act together and get into position. Se now Seattle has seen the Oakland on side kick strategy. Well done Eddie.

  3. You should hold a weekly poll to vote on the worst officiated game of the week. A lot of worthy games this week but of the games I watched, the Rams/49ers game (Jerome Boger crew) was the worst.

  5. Ravens Steelers game :
    1. If the week 2 hit by Upshaw was a penalty for crown of the helmet to the qb chest why was Harrison’s hit on flacco not a penalty when he did the same exact thing?
    2. Should the Pittsburgh corner have been flagged for grabbing and holding onto Torrey Smith’s jersey preventing him from catchinga pass on the end zone? It appeared the ref saw the holding and pulling, it was very clear but not called.
    3. Why was the ball not spotted to the correct spot on the field in the challenge by Harbaugh? It was very clear where the ball was when rothlessberger was stopped and they spotted it at least a yard father ahead.
    4. what was the rule that applied to the Suggs hit in Blount, it looked bad to see it live but on replay it just looked like a hard hit and he was not down.

For the most part the game seemed called ok, but there were some inconsistencies IMHO, I could go back and get more, but these are my main questions.

Michaels and Collinsworth actually impressed me by attempting to provide unbiased commentary, that was greatly appreciated.

Thanks again for your excellent work here.

  6. How is that not OPI when Brown blatantly pushes Ladarius Webb to the ground beyond 5 yards, then catches the pass. I have seen much softer contact made that had not warranted and OPI (“ahem” Steve Smith Bengals catch “ahem”) Or the play where he backs into Webb and then pushes off again then gets the DPI. I am now lost on what constitutes PI. There is very little if any consistency in the calls that are being made.

  7. Ravens – Steelers: Also the challenge at mid field on the ball placement on the Steelers QB sneak. The video clearly showed Ben Roth. was at least 2 yds short and had not made the yardage. The video also clearly showed that he had scooted along the ground after being down by contact to make the yardage. Then they upheld the placement and award the first down? I cut the game off there. That was sickening.

  8. So, on Monday night football, the REGULAR Ref. faces the wrong way…if that was a replacement? Forget it! Ed Hochuli did three times in ONE GAME this season!! Where is Peter King now? Then, “Guns ED H.” blows the ready for play without all his guys in position? I repeat, where are all the officiating nay-sayers in the media NOW? Sure were boisterous in 2012!!
The hypocrisy continues right along with poor officiating. They are really earning those big raises, huh?

  9. 4th Q, 38 seconds remaining in Pittsburgh’s game with Baltimore.

A72/A53 chop block on the outside against B96.

Chop block or BIB or both?
