Shawn Smith to officiate 2021 Pro Football Hall of Fame Game

Shawn Smith will be the referee for the first game of the 2021 NFL season, in Canton, Ohio.

The NFL’s 102nd season begins Thursday night at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio, adjacent to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Football Zebras has confirmed that Shawn Smith, who is beginning his 7th season and 4th as referee, will lead the crew in the first preseason game of 2021 between the Cowboys and Steelers. He will have his regular crew on hand for the game. The Thursday night game will be aired jointly on Fox and NFL Network, beginning at 8 p.m. Eastern.
