Bengals QB giving himself up? How in the world can you run 18 yards and dive into the end zone head first without being touched and they say he gave himself up? This has got to be the worst ever reversal from New York!
Gave himself up?
The rule needs more defined. There has to be a difference between a QB giving himself up to avoid a hit/tackle whether it ne feet or head first versus diving for a TD in the end zone!
I just can’t imagine that interpretation on the dive. I’ve seen that multiple times called a TD with defenders a lot closer.
Just a weird rule.
Near the end of regulation in the Cowboys/Eagles game. With less than 1 minute left, the Cowboys were flagged for holding which stopped the clock. The officials picked up the flag and no penalty was assessed. Shouldn’t the clock have started right away instead of starting on the snap? Isn’t this like giving the Cowboys a timeout?
