Jalen Hurts finds Dallas Goedert for a touchdown pass.

But, the Eagles were called for ineligible receiver downfield. Cam Jurgens was called for the foul.

Eagles coach Nick Siriani was spooling up to a full blown fit, but cameras caught the alternate officials calming him down.

That’s because Jurgens was engaged with a defender and driving him downfield. When an offensive lineman is blocking a defender and that engagement continues one yard beyond the neutral zone, that is no foul.

Instant replay can only intervene in determining position of a player – not whether or not the offensive lineman was engaged – so replay cannot help on this call. An official on the field talked the calling official off of the flag. Referee Alan Eck announced the crew was picking up the flag and the touchdown was legal.

This is an excellent example of good crew work. Someone saved the crew and there is no shame in picking up a flag.
