No pass interference on the Broncos in next-to-last play against the Eagles
What looks like pass interference sometimes isn’t.
JL Skinner breaks up a pass intended for Dallas Goedert. The Eagles wanted a pass interference call on Skinner and it certainly looks like pass interference.
But, the defender was in superior position. Skinner does not have to give ground and let Goedert try to come back and catch the ball. Both were looking for the ball. The pass interference antenna is up, but there is no material restriction, route cut off, arm bar or playing through the receiver.
Side judge Clay Reynard has primary coverage on this play, with potential help from back judge Greg Steed.

You’re as blind as official on the field. Defender clearly has a hold of receivers jersey.

It was a good no-cal and your brief article does an excellent job of explaining why. Good work!

To me, it wasn’t about the position of the defender. It was about the clear pull of the WRs shoulder pads that prevented him from turning toward the ball.
