Follow our live coverage here this weekend during the games, and on our Twitter page, @footballzebras.

Game assignments are below. All times are Eastern. TV networks are in a rounded box, streaming providers in a dashed box. The game between Orlando and Atlanta will only be broadcast on Bleacher Report’s live stream.

Touchdown review

A late second half touchdown pass from San Diego Fleet Mike Bercovici to tight end Marcus Baugh was reviewed for a possible fumble before the goal line in the final seconds of the first half of the Fleet at Arizona Hotshots game.

Waugh caught the pass between two defenders and had a clear path to the end zone after the defender collided in an attempt to tackle the tight end. Waugh jogged toward the end zone with no one in sight and appeared to toss the ball before he crossed the goal line. The play was reviewed by booth official Glen King of the Pac-12. Waugh dropped the ball in front of back judge Jimmy DeBell, formerly an NFL official.

During replay, King stated that he could not definitively tell if Waugh’s hand was over the goal line when he dropped the ball because there was no clear shot of the play straight down the goal line, though it’s pretty clear he did drop it before the goal line. Ultimately in that case, King instructed the head official to go with “call stands.”

In the first clip, King works through some of the criteria that he cannot confirm when and where the ball comes out.

In the second clip King rules “stands.”

Leverage

A leverage foul occurred when a Memphis Express defender went up to block a field goal kick by Birmingham Iron kicker Nick Novak. The defender used an offensive lineman to gain height. This was incorrectly described on the broadcast as landing on a player (that would be a “leaping” foul a player starting in the second level).

Leverage is a 15 yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty and automatic first down.
