The first preseason games for the 2016 season are still a few days away, but it’s still not too soon for disagreements with an official’s call to start. In a joint practice Wednesday  with the Lions, Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown was called for an unsportsmanlike conduct toward an official. According to Chris Adamski of the  Pittsburgh Tribune-Review,  Brown  was nearly ejected from the practice.

The confrontation was with field judge Terry Brown. Although Antonio Brown was not ejected from the practice, he was told that he would have been disqualified had it been an actual game, and Brown’s actions will still be reported to the league office. It’s not clear if there will be any repercussions from the league.

Players and coaches being upset with a call is nothing new for an NFL official, and dealing with the disputes that arise is a weekly occurrence. Antonio Brown and the officials for that practice are getting an extra-early start in 2016.

Update: Terry Brown spoke with Adamski after practice.
