I am glad Sean Payton asked for a review of the bum call made by HL John McGrath in yesterday's Super Bowl game. How can McGrath be considered an elite NFL official when he misjudges a call from 3 feet away! Lance Moore's catch and score for 2 points was a critical call that somehow McGrath blew. The replay easily confirmed the blown call by McGrath.

What makes his bum call even worse was that he was so demonstrative with the call. And from 3 feet away!

Send this guy back for more training.

If a flagrant face mask personal foul is committed against the running back after he fumbles the ball who has possession?

Thanks,

I think that Mike Pereira's Official Review segment got overloaded with some compelling plays from the Eagles-Giants game. Usually he reviews four plays a week, and this week, the three we mentioned were under Official Review.

If I can catch a replay, I will see if I can get a post on it.

I am wondering why the Falcon interception of Brees was not covered this week. I am not saying it would have made the game but the play looked clean form my viewpoint it looked like the defender and reciever we're both playing the ball, so why was this not removed. Also not to pile on but in the 1st NO ATL game Ryan was intercepted by Jabari Greer, on the replay you could clearly see that Greer hit Reciever White while the ball was in the air completely stopping White from running his route. just want to understand why these plays were not reviewed. thnaks

Oh, most certainly. I'll look at a few things from that game, like the incomplete/forward fumble by McNabb and the clock "issue" at the conclusion of the first half, where it looked like the Eagles had the ball with 2 seconds remaining.

Too tired to write something resembling English tonight, though.

Close call with the Eli Manning fumble in the third quarter, I'm sure it'll be on Official Review.

There is much discussion circulating around the two "official" reviews in the Redskins/Saints game. Mike Florio's blog at NBC Sports touches on it and the comments are interesting. Looked to me as if the league blew both calls, the game announcers were in agreement. Might be worth a look!

Thanks, Gary. That was how it was spelled on the Hall of Fame website. Obviously there is no serious consideration for any official's enshrinement if they cannot get the spelling right. Obviously, someone must have known him personally, because he was an obscure umpire who did not establish any Hall of Fame credentials.

Tunney, as expected, was dropped from consideration.
