Redskins DeAngelo Hall fined for actions against an official

The Washington Redskins DeAngelo Hall was fined $30,000 by the NFL yesterday for his Week 8 incident (video) with an NFL official during the game between the Redskins and Pittsburgh Steelers on October 28.  Ian Rapoport of nfl.com reported the Hall fine. 

After a play in which Hall felt he had been fouled by a Steeler, Hall approached head linesman Dana McKenzie and began arguing with the official.  Hall removed his helmet drawing one unsportsmanlike conduct foul.  Hall began to walk closer to McKenzie forcing the official to back up to avoid physical contact.  Hall then cursed McKenzie drawing a second unsportsmanlike conduct foul.  McKenzie then ejected Hall as side judge Don Carlsen, line judge John Hussey, and several other officials and Redskins players tried to get Hall away from McKenzie.

After the incident I wrote about my concern about a growing trend of fouls against officials.

Hall was scheduled to meet with NFL disciplinarians the following week, but Hurricane Sandy postponed the meeting.
